Website Feature for Metal Detecting

So I found a website called Waymarking.com and I think it's a great tool for Metal Detecting. Just type in your Zip Code and look for local historical markers. Being that I live in Pennsylvania there are several Civil and Revolutionary War "Waymarks." Some are from famous battles or even just campsites, but are all valid placed to search.

Be careful though I know you can't metal detect on federal lands and in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania not only do you have to have permissions in the state parks, but you have to contact someone that runs the park if you find anything older than 100 years old. So I hear the trick is to find local land owners skirting the state park or "waymark sign."

A retired guy that I have been speaking with around my area told me that he found several coins in a Revolutionary War campsite in a farmers field. He told me just ask permission there is only two answers. I looked up the area in Waymarking.com and found the field he was talking about right there in front of me.

Improving the Metal Detecting Hunts

I decided i'm having a lot of fun metal detecting so far, but I wan't to get a little more serious and find better locations. So I found one of those cheesy websites that sell e-books, evideos, audio instructions, etc. and I plan on trying it out. The guy selling the videos is 21 and I like the entrepreneurial spirit so I will give him my #37.00. Lets face it that isn't a high dollar amount and I will just have to skip going to dinner one night with my wife (Don't tell her). Plus if it sucks I can always return it to and get a full refund. At any rate I found this guy through Clickbank.com. If your interested in stuff like this click on the "Click Here" button bellow and tell me what you think.Click Here!Stay tuned I will keep you updated with new hunts and how I felt about this product soon.

Seventh Metal Detector Hunt: 8/30/12

A pull tab, 2 cans, and a 1996 quarter. Stay tuned for more. I've been extremely busy with work. Most of my hunts other than the one with my father have been very short in time.

Have You Lost Anything?

I would really like to hunt on someone's private property if they wouldn't mind in the NE Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. I would be more than happy to look for your lost jewelry items if you would like. With two stipulations

1. Since I have to buy batteries an put gas in my car I would like to keep whatever I find pending its not the item I'm looking for, for you. I also want to point out that I may not find that item so I can't guarantee it.

2. Written permission. Sometimes home owners will give you permission and than change their minds when they see the digging tool come out. That's fine to do it is your property. The real problem is when the police men come and the home owner isn't around to defend you.

Fifth Metal Detector Hunt: 8/15/12

A metal cap, a flywheel, what looks like a piece of lawn mower blade, some canslaw, a whatzit, two golf balls on the surface, some kind of valve with a ball that spins inside, and a broken toy gun. The toy gun has a bell in it attached to wires. It must ring when you pull the trigger.

Fourth Metal Detecting Hunt: 8/11/12

Found a dime, a few pieces of whatzit, a rusted nut, and not pictured an aluminum ring.
